Help with VIOT plugin
« on: November 12, 2005, 06:33:13 pm »
??? I am trying to install a VIOT plug in into a phatbox converted into a KEg with the latest firmware. Tried the instructions in the Wilki (changed  the phatbox ID to Keg 3210 to 2210) and managed to install the plugin onto the DMS.  On updating the box, it just hangs with red light on and green blinking every 30 sec.

I managed to get  an error log file which looks like this

07.59:phatd:main      : Media Daemon (phatd) $Revision: 1.226 $

07.63:phatd:main      : Debug level = 10

07.63:phatd:dac_clock_: Set DAC clock mode to 0
Selected profile is: Default

07.92:phatd:main      : Using /dos/exec.ini for exec.ini

08.01:phatd:fork_if_in: Spawning /dos/51d

08.01:phatd:fork_if_in: Program started (/dos/51d), pid=13, childno=0

08.52:51d  :main      :
--- 51d (Mar  3 2004 18:49:12) --- $Revision: 1.205 $

Can someone help me. I dont want to loose $ 75/ for nothing

which version of aadec are you using (file size is helpful)?  Are you using a hacked DMS?

there should be more to your debug log than that

Do you have any other plugins installed?

Try moving plugins.dat out of the plugins directory, and seeing if it will boot.   You could also try renaming the plugins directory and booting to ensure it works without the plugin...

You DID change the ID back to what it used to be before trying to boot your box right?

Thanks
I am using the unmodified version of the aadec (108KB)that came with the newest Kewood software

Yes it is a hacked DMS ( ;D) . Yes I did change the Id back to 3201(Audi) from 22019(Kenwwod)

The box will work if I removed/renamed the plugin folder

I have ordered a new Kenwood headunit with ACdrive. Will it do the trick? Do I still have to enable the VIOT plugin

Yes you have to have VIOT to get it to work.

You should use a hacked aadec if you want to do it from a non phatnoise drive as the phatnoise aadec checks drive sigs.

yes.  check in the backup folder on the original dms drive if you used the hack CD.
