This seems like a good deal, compatible?

This is about the lowest price I've been able to find for a 2.5" 120 gb hdd, does anyone see a reason why this wouldn't work with my modded VW > Sony PB?

Electronically, it should work.

Mechanically, my experience with the Samsung Spinpoint drive (60GB) is that the DMS shock mounts have to be trimmed to fit this drive.

If you do buy this drive and use it, don't force the dms cartridge at all to get it closed after installing the drive. If you can't easily put the two halves of the cartridge together, you need to trim the shock mounts more. Forcing it closed will break the drive.

Don't ask me why I know this will break the drive. ;)

P.S. New Egg prices fluctuate a lot. An item that is a good deal today may not be tomorrow. So if it is a remarkably good price, get it right away.

I used a Samsung Spinpoint 40 GB drive, and it is working fine. I didn't trim the shock mounts; I just screwed the DMS together and it was fine. Maybe I was just lucky the ten or so times I had to swap the disks to get the hack to work.  :)
