The Phatbox is one of those devices that works the way it wants to work, not the way you want it to work. Once you get past that hurdle, and get used to it, I think you will find things much more to your liking. That's not to say that there aren't annoying "features", but overall it's a very functional piece of audio gear, and considering that the core design was set more than 6 years ago, it was far ahead of it's time.
