After taking out the DMS......

Ever since I did the Phatnoise to Music keg conversion, I must disconnect and reconnect the head unit's power in order for it to recognize the Music keg again. It was never like this when I was using my original VW radio and the Phatnoise with the original firmware. When I take out the DMS, I always make sure the red light is off. For example, I went for a drive yesterday and I came back and did some homework and then, 2 hours later after shutting the car off, I went back down and removed the DMS to upload new music. I uploaded the music and then went and inserted the DMS back into the Music Keg. The head unit didn't discover the music keg. Any suggestions on what I need to do?
