USB 2.0 Cradle?
« on: January 12, 2007, 03:34:09 am »
Hey Guys,

Now I have upgraded my DMS to 60gig I have realised I definately need a USB 2.0 cradle. Is it possible to modify the existing one to usb 2?

Is their a cheap place where I could just buy a cradle?

John

put simply there is no easy way to mod the 1.0 cradle but you could take the DMS apart and take the drive out and hook it up internally to your PC or in a USB 2.0 IDE enclosure of some kind using a converter that hooks laptop 44 pin connectors to IDE and power cables inside a PC (those converters are usually under 20 bucks and a USB enclosure for a hard drive / CD rom drive is usually less than 50 bucks.

If you can find a cheap Audi phatbox or USB 2.0 cradle on ebay that's probably your simplest and most inexpensive solution...

otherwise you can buy one from PhatNoise
