startup sound?

I haven't messed with my DMS is a long while and I'm getting reaquainted with it lately and wanted to put in a custom startup sound. I've read the following but I'm a little unclear on where the actual line "startup_sound=/dos/path/to/sound.mp3" needs to put put. I know it's in the phatbox.ini but where exactly? And where does the startup sound .mp3 file need to be placed?

A startup sound can be placed in phatbox.ini or profiles.ini. Just put in startup_sound=/dos/path/to/sound.mp3. A value in phatbox.ini will take precedence over one in profiles.ini (put it under the right profile). It will play as soon as the PhatBox first gets a command to play. New: instead of a path, you can use rand:/dos/data/directory/, and a random file will be picked from that directory.

I'm pretty sure it does go right underneath the [Phatbox] section, but where do I put the actual .mp3 file?

you put the mp3 file somehwere on your phtsys or phtdta drive and then you put the path to it in the ini file.

it goes in the profile.ini im pretty sure, not the phatbox.ini, that was the old place in older firmware.

right under [phatbox] i have
startup_sound=rand:dos/data/startup/

startup is the name I gave to a folder in the PHTDTA dir.  This folder contains a whole bunch of sound snippets...such as:

that really should be "rand:/dos/data/startup"

You wouldn't want some strange patch from phatnoise to make phatd run in say... the /dos directory, then "dos/data/startup" would suddenly reference "/dos/dos/data/startup"

I'm presuming rand:/ is used to play a random file from the specified directory?

I ask because I'll add an option in PhatHack Media Manager to change the startup sound, and to allow you to specify random, or a specific file.
